Gelungenes Stout! 11/11/11/12/8/11

Bottle from The Bottle Stop, Cheadle Hulme. Poured a deep dark brown colour with a mid sized tan head. Nose was dark fruit and bitter dark chocolate with some hoppy notes.Taste had a malty spine with similar elements to the aroma ans some roasted character. Dried out nicely towards the finish. Can’t really say I picked up on the port aspect. Pretty good, but certainly not my favourite offering from a brewery who set a very high standard.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of citrusy grapefruits and hops as well as roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of hard roasted malt, citrus, grass, and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter and very roasted finish. The body is light. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottle, thx to fonefan. It pours a clear, dark brown body with an almost tan head. Fruity and berry-ish on the nose. A little sourish touch too, and also some hoppy fruityness. Chocolate, burnt malt, coffee and hoppy bitterness in the flavor. Quite thin-bodied and dry. Fruity and bitter finish. A nice beer, but in a way it’s quite boring. (080824)

Bottle, 5.1%. Sweet vinous aroma. Black colour, nice creamy stable brown head. Good roasted flavour, some barley bitterness. Vinous touch, perhaps a little creamy, and there is a weak cellary note.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to pitch black with a lacing creamy tan head. Dense hoppy fruity aroma. Quite inviting. Sweet and slight malty base flavour with a nice floral hoppiness and bitterness coming through. Smooth chocolate and fruity hoppy finish.
