On tap @ Marble Arch. Pours opaque black with a nice creamy fawn head. The nose has dark chocolate, perhaps heading into liquorice. The taste has more dark chocolate but this time there’s also a hint of coffee. The palate is medium to full bodied with a big creamy texture and a slightly cloying but still nice finish. Overall, good but could be better balanced.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, London on 4th April 2012. Ink black with thin part-lacing grey head. Pungent aroma with smoke notes. Roast malts, coffee and lacticity in-mouth, along with smoke and herbiness leading to a rich and complex end. Engaging texture. Delicious.
