A strong English Ale brewed at the North Brink Brewery, to celebrate over 225 years of brewing. The beer is bottle conditioned, store cool and allow to age for flavour and carbonation to develop. Best served at around 10-12 degrees C. Our 225th year was in fact 202, but sadly we were not able to brew much during the pandemic that saw our industry closed down! The beer is a tribute to the longevity of our brewery, our dedication and passion for brewing beer as a 5th generation family-owned private brewery. The recipe uses Pale Ale Malt, Crystal and Amber malts for a full flavoured beer with fruity esters. Hop bitterness from English Traditional varieties, Fuggles & Challenger with Goldings late in the boil. After primary fermentation the beer was stored in tank for 2 months "dry-hopped" on newer variety English Hops, Jester & Emperor. The final flavour is very full, juicy malt with complex hop characters. As the beer is bottle conditioned the flavour will develop further with time as the secondary yeast slowly works producing high carbonation.

75cl bottle @ final beer tasting, Chez Sophie, Aug 24. Thanks Mark for this. Troublesome tight champagne cork but got there in the end. Pours chestnut brown, medium white head. Jeremy sums it up well. Mediocre, lacklustre malty beer, a bit sombre and boring, nothing remarkable about it all, little hoppy presence which is a shame considering their efforts. Happy Birthday to Elgoods all the same 🎉

Monday 5th August 2024, the last Minutemat led Shrewsbury Beer Gathering, five guys, loads of beer and bollox. Cheers Mark for the cork and caged 75cl bottle of this. Light golden body, wispy white head. I was expecting a little more for a 225 year celebration to be honest. Decent enough beer but it didn't cry out 'CELEBRATION' or 'SPECIAL' to me.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear copper with a thick off-white head. Aromas of caramel and red apple skins. Taste is dried mixed peel, malt sugars, toffee. Something spicy at the back. Nice.
