Tasted as Oxfam Blond Bier, in which form it is sold throught the Oxfam stores, centered around fair trade. Made with Bolivian quinoa, Costarican cane sugar and Indian Basmati rice. Warm golden blonde colour, snow white, not too stable head; grainy and malt sweetish nose, lemon peel, rice noticeable; grainy taste, a bit caramelly, some strange sourishness (perhaps the quinoa?), sourish finish with light bitterness. Unbalanced, like most of Huyghe’s beers.

Vacation 2013 @ Virton, Belgium. 33 cl. bottle @ the bungalow, bought @ the local farmers market.

Clear amber with a thin white head. Sweetish aroma. Typical yeasty taste with a lot of sweetness to it.

33CL bottle at home, clear golden beer with a small white head, hmm not that great of a beer, its drinkable but has a bit too much carbonation in my opinion.

31/VII/13 - 33cl bottle from Oxfam Fairtrade Shop (Gent) @ my parents' place - BB: III/2015 (2013-676)

Clear blond beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit metallic, orange peel, grassy hops, citrus, lemony. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: metallic start, dry bitterness, little fruity. Aftertaste: bitter hops, pretty metallic, some citrus, watery finish. Meh.

Bottle Oxfam blond, best before june 2010, found it in a dark place. Aged well. Amber colour, low carbonation. Sweet aroma of candysugar, bitter aftertaste. Notes of honey. Not bad.

33cl bottle @ home. Clear orange color, small off-white head. Smell malts and lightly some fruits. Taste malts, some unripe fruits and a sour hint. A bit dry in the finish, medium carbonation, medium body though it doesn’t really taste like a 7.5% ABV beer to me. It does make me burp a lot. A bit disappointing, even though my expectations weren’t that high from the beginning.

dość specyficzne piwo, lekko dosładzane, ale nie słodkie, co nie utrudnia degustacji, brązowy kolor, spora piana. Sapach trudny do zidentyfikowania

Aug 2010: Formally known as ’Oxfam Blonde’ this beer was obtained from the Oxfam shop in Brugge and brought back home to review. Poured into a ’Duvel’ glass: Looked like a slightly darker Duvel actually, huge white head of large bubbles and an almost clear body, but more amber than duvel gold. The aroma was a bit of a let down, some yeast esters but very little else. The beer was crisp, tart and well carbonated, but lacking in taste somewhat. Yeasty, with a hop bitterness hidden away behind the fizziness of the carbonisation. Drinkable, but no classic, ingredients from Bolivia, Costa Rica and Thailand, a fairtrade beer!

Bottle from local Oxfam shop. Hazy golden colour, off-white head. Lots of red-brownish floaties. Nose is yeasty, spicy, dry malty. Flavour is yeasty, malty, alcoholic, some fruityness. Alcoholic and dry finish. Poorly done.
