Alkoholischer, würzig-malziger Antrunk. Weiter sehr würzig, immer leicht alkoholisch, auf die Dauer stört dies aber immer weniger. Die starke Würze gefällt, ebenso wie der bittere Einfluss im Nachgeschmack. Süffig und lecker! Test vom 7.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,12,12,13,3,13 - 12,10

(25cl bottle, 7.7% abv, traded with DerDoppelbock) Hazy, ruby dark brown colour with a pleasant and persistent foamy beige head. Dusty, molassy sweet roasted malt aroma with caramel and alcohol. Sweet, slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied, low to moderate carbonation. Robust, dark malty, moderately roasted taste with caramel and subtle fruity notes; strong malty, sweet-bitter finish with a present alcohol. Tasty but not very balanced.

Dark red-brown beer; yellow-brown, creamy head. Creamy, malty, caramel to real toffee nose, sweet & rich. Bitter from dark roasted malts, sweet from lots of rest- (or added?) sugars, bit brusque transition. Perfumey flavours (lytchee, rosewater, marzipan). Lots of syrupy sweetness in the finish/backthroat. Rather heavy body, syrupy texture. A tad too sweet, a tad too brusque, and rather unrefined. Synonymous of InBev?

(Bottle 25 cl) Dark brown, but far from black. Stable light brown head. Notes of licorice and burned malt adding to the sharp bitterness. But not as harsh as the typical Belgian Scotch Ale - this is more pleasant and easy to drink. Not that far from an Abbey Dubbel. 100398
