As the dig unconvered more evidence of past life on the planet, our Palaeontologists were ecstatic to uncover a forgotten species that goes back as far as life existed on our shores. A group of prehistoric brews from the Tradassic period. The first fossil recipe to be gently excavated was a Best Bitter, a style that dominated the land for 140 million years, or at least for as long as CAMRA can remember.

It slashes at your taste buds, here, or here.
Or maybe across the belly, spilling your into your intestines.
The point is, you are alive, when you start to drink it.
So ya know, try to show a little respect...

(4.2% Chestnut brown Best Bitter, with bittersweet roast notes of caramel, toffee, fruit, malt complexity, hopped with British Fuggle)

440ml Can - Copper red with a foamy head. Caramel, berries and some biscuity notes in the aroma. Toffee, dried fruit, berries and some slightly biscuity and earthy notes in the taste. A decent bitter, even if it is from Portsmouth!

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma is malty. Citrus notes. Hazy-opaque brown. Thin foamy white head Sweet start. Floral and yeasty. Followed by a citrus edge for light sourness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation... slightly prickly. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Nice. Sweet and malty so makes me think of Finnish NA homebrew. Nice.

Clear mahogany brown with a frothy off-white head and a leafy, slightly nutty aroma. Light bodied, on the watery side, with sweet malt, some caramel/toffee and old school floral hop bitterness, finishes pretty dry

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2023, day 5 - Hackney. Pours clear chestnut-gold with a frothy, light khaki head. Light sweet flavour with notes of biscuits, toasted malts, spicy grains, leafy hops, nips of citrus peel. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Well balanced finish, crisp, right amount of bitterness. Sound.
