From the cherry tree’s transient flowers, its fruits ripen – round, red and packed with sunshine. Timmermans Kriek is brewed by adding natural juice to lambic beer, a blend that is then fermented in oak barrels. After which it is bottled.Timmermans Kriek blends its famed lambic with this sweetness for a beer that can quench any thirst. Its natural freshness will make you blush for joy.
Taste-wise… Its flavour is all cherry, as is already apparent from its very powerful nose. Its acidity is neutralised by its agreeably sweet and fruity bouquet. Its taste pervades the mouth and lingers gently, elegantly tinted with summer cherries.

[330ml bottle at the Retreat, Reading] Pours a dirty red with a moderate foamy pink head. Soft carbonation. Smells strongly of bakewell tart. Taste is not as strong, and is of maraschino cherries and is rather sweet. The background lambic does offer a tiny hint of sourness, developing into a mildly dry, tart finish, but they definitely overdid the fake fruit in this one-dimensional alcopop. The Framboise was much better than this.

Bottle, SH Jones, Bicester, 12-05-07. Pours red with a pink head. Aroma and taste was of Maraschino cherries, i.e. bit sweeter than normal cherries, yet there was a nice tang to it, Loz and I quite enjoyed this.

Welch WUnder - ein Kirchgeruch liegt einem in der Nase. Schaut mich ruhig komisch an, aber der Geruch erinnert mich an irgendeinen Kuchen.... Am Anfang ein wenig säuerlich, zum Ende hin ein wenig bitter. Ansonsten ein wenig trocken, aber im Grunde ok. Test vom 9.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,11,9,12,9 - 9,45
