From the cherry tree’s transient flowers, its fruits ripen – round, red and packed with sunshine. Timmermans Kriek is brewed by adding natural juice to lambic beer, a blend that is then fermented in oak barrels. After which it is bottled.Timmermans Kriek blends its famed lambic with this sweetness for a beer that can quench any thirst. Its natural freshness will make you blush for joy.

Taste-wise… Its flavour is all cherry, as is already apparent from its very powerful nose. Its acidity is neutralised by its agreeably sweet and fruity bouquet. Its taste pervades the mouth and lingers gently, elegantly tinted with summer cherries.

Bottled, as Delhaize Kriek Lambic, from the supermarket. Very candy-like cherry nose, more like a cherry soda or cherry coke, with vanilla, cream. Nothing lambic about it, though it is somehow appetizing. Reddish-orange, lace, pretty but thin. Amazingly sweet cherry with sour notes, vanilla, some yogurt, a bit of lambic tank but no funk. Very clean. Somewhat balanced and tasty but more like a cherry soda overall.

Bottle split at JF’s - cheers James, 18/08/13. Pours cherry red with a moderately sized crimson covering that retains well. Nose is cherry drops, sugary, sweet and artificial smelling. Taste follows, little else to say, very light tartness in the the cherry but very much sweet cherry drops. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet dryish finish. Meh - oversweetened nonsense!

Bottle labled – Delhaize Krieken Lambic – purchased @ Delhaize – consumed @ home. BBF 19/02/2015. Quite happy that this is a label beer for “Timmermans Kriek Nouveau Lambic” – been sort of trying to tick the rest of Timmermans & Mort Subite brews – I mentioned Mort Subite because I confuse all of these beers from these breweries. Never sure which ones I have tried or not tried before & what the hell is the difference between Retro, Tradition, Nouveau etc. beers. Appearance is like cherry juice, ruby gummy bears,… light shade of pink head, patchy, almost instantly gone. Nose is pure grenadine, cherry candy (cherry & not kriek), smells like cherry turnovers,… Taste is grenadine, sweeteners, artificial flavours, finish is brutally metallic, really harsh, light spices,… nasty watery, artificial finish,… Touch watery,… yeah…

Bottle. Hazy deep red color, medium pink head that settles quickly. Aroma of massive cherry, subtle citrus. Taste starts a bit sweet, but not overly so. Mouthfeel is actually pretty good, stuffed with cherries.

Bottle shared with Lyoli in Brussels. Pours clear, purple-red with a small, light pink head. Big cherry, fruit punch juic nose, mostly artificial. Medium sweet flavour, not nearly as sugary as expected, with a pleasant, modest cherry tang. Light bodied with average, smooth carbonation. Light cherry character to finish with light but nice tang, slight herbal notes, some minerals. The character ends up being fairly mild, but when it comes to cheap fruit lambics, I’ll take mild over intense every time.

Bottle at Kulminator, March 2012. (labeled as Delhaize Krieken Lambic, anno 2005) Reddish/pink with a small head. This was a typical sweet Kriek with artificial notes both in the aroma and taste. Also notes of almond and a very light tartness. Not bad but not too exciting either.

25 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden red with a small pink head. Distinct almondish and cherry fruity. Mild acidic yet with a distinct sweet cherry almondish flavour swept through. Ends mild citric and lingering fruity.
