A complex grist with a large amount of wheat and oats forms the base of this beer. Fermented with our house yeast on blackberry and plum pomace and soured with lactobacillus.
7 months in French Pinot Noir barrels and the result is a beer that pours a deep purple with both sweet and tartness from the fruit, sourness from the lactobacillus and more than a hint of grape and tannin from the wine there before.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - deep red to brown. Thin white head. Nose - plum, spice and funky wood. Taste - blackberry more this time, plum and wood spice. Palate - medium bodied, sour and tangy middle and finish. Overall - good.

Bottle pour at GBBF'23, day three, 03/08/23. Deeper shade of reddish amber topped with an off white head. Nose is dried red berries, funk, dry rot, herb, blackberries, red wine barrel. Taste comprises red grape must, tannins, funk, oak, vinous, hedgerow, blackberries, acidic bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a good acidic rise. Decent.

330ml bottle, shared with Mark whilst brewing our Christmas barley wine. Pours deep, unclear, dark with a purple hint. Good plum definition coming through, good oakiness with mild jammy notes, softly sour. Nicely done

Bottled 330ml. -from Ambasada Zagreb. Murky red coloured, small off-white head, tannins and quite strong plum in the nose. Acidic plum, berries, light caramel, tannins, notes of wood and light alcohol with dryish finish.

Tap at vocation tap Manchester. A hazed deep plummy purple coloured pour with a lasting pink froth. Attractive. Aroma is sour wood, bark, vanilla oak, tangy brambles, big oak, vanilla. Flavour is composed of nice fruit medley, blackberry. Oak tannin, bark, oak.. Palate is semi sweet, tart, tannin, highish carbonation. Nice.
