Bottle from Waitrose. Hazy yellow in colour, with a slight, white, head and moderate carbonation. Sweet rosewater and spice notes, a vague tartness, grainy malts and touch of leafy hop, before a gentle finish. A decent novelty, but I wouldnt want to drink many of these.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie. Pours a hazy gold, small white head. Aroma soapy, very lightly spicy, floral. Taste is perhaps more in Belgian Blonde territory rather than witbier. There is some mild floral spice, but in terms of rose petals I guess it’s pretty subtle. Pleasant but not too much to set it apart from a normal blonde.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy golden, white head. Tart citrus nose - oranges and lemons. The taste slightly citrusy, hints of rose buds, that slight cereal roughness of unmalted wheat. A bit perfumey, not too offensive. Ok.

330ml bottle from Mitchell’s Wines, Meadowhall - Hazy golden orange body. with an off white head. Nose is straw, grass, grains, bready malts. Taste is tangy citrus, a few floral notes, a little weak spice. Not bad.

330ml bottle bought from Waitrose, drunk at home. This is a really nice-looking witbier. Cloudy yellow with a tight white head which quickly dissipates. Botanicals and fresh grass with some loquat. Not so much rose but in the general ’floral twee’ area. Sweet taste with notes of Turkish Delight and citrus drops. Really heavily carbonated but I can dig it. This is pretty good without being too over the top. Recommended.
