This beautiful straw colored ale has a light malty body, balanced with pine and grapefruit hop character from early additions of Cascade and Chinook. Late loads of dank Summit and Citra in the whirlpool provide an aromatic and deliciously quenching finish to this East meets West Coast IPA.

12 ounce can. Brassy gold color. Large pillowy white head. Mild grainy malt aroma. First sip is bittersweet and hoppy. Notes of black pepper, pine needles and dank citrus. Subtle and complex. An easy to drink IPA.

Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium frothy white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, piney hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy hops, pine, grapefruit and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can@SBWF2014. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, earthy, floral, some nice bready malts along with mild caramel. Flavour is fruity, floral, some mild nectar, spices and mild grassiness. Also some mild maltiness to it. Somewhat balanced, but not really my thing this one.

Can at SBWF2014. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Grassy, sticky even harsh nose. Medium-bodied. Flowery hoppy, a bit sweetish flavor. Taste is better than the nose.

Pour is a hazy red with a small white head. Aroma is a oily hop with sweet malts. Flavor is more on the malty side. That’s not a bad thing as the malts are very earth and herbal. The malts overpower any hop presence but I’m guess a fresher sample would show them off more. This says American style IPA but this is way more an English style.

Picked up from the foreign bottle bar (Biers Sans Frontiers), GBBF 13, ¾ pint bottle. Clear amber coloured body. Two-finger sized off-white head with good retention. Spotty lacing down the glassware. Dusty hops and mid-sweet, earthy malts to the nose. Flavours of malty sweetness nicely blended with fresh apricot and lemon. Dry bitter endnotes. Refreshing with fine drinkability (shared with Finn H at his place in Tromsø 30.10.2013).
