On tap at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Ashburn VA. Jet black and opaque, with a slight, beige, head. Dark chocolate, spicy rye malts, a touch of dark fruits and dryish finish. Very good.

Tap. Pours hazy mahogany, medium creamy tan head, great lacing. Aroma is roasty, ashtray, coffee. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, quite roasty but not burned, hints of smoke and coffee. Medium body. Solid

Spacebar, Falls Church tap: pours black with a nitro beige head. Aroma is light chocolate, and rye and some roast. Taste is vwry smooth with light spicy roast and the smallest hints of chocolate. I dont really get any coffee in there. Not what I was expecting.

Sampled at the brewery, pours a murky, deep brown with some creamy, beige head. Nose has grist, toast, bread crust, mild chocolate, mild peppercorn, earthy. Flavor has some hop balance, orange, pine, toast, earthy, dried leaves, bread crust. Crisp finish. Almost in black IPA territory.

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Dark brownish black with off-white to light tan head. Aromas of rye, roasty, chocolate, spice. Tastes of nice rye, dark chocolate, roast, coffee, grains. Medium body with a dry finish. Nicely done on the rye.

Keg at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, green hops. The taste is chocolate, rye, roasted malts. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

Very nice. Musky, with great roast aroma. Light caramel and big rye. Medium bitter finish with good barely profile in finish. Dark brown/black pour with ok head and lacing. Average carbonation. Tap at brewpub.
