New England-Style IPAs are all the rage. Fans of Stone repeatedly ask for our take on the style, which can be met with some criticism. Rooted in West-Coast style IPAs for decades, how would we do it? Fear no more. Our brewers took the approach to deliver incredibly hoppy and aromatic flavor while keeping it very balanced, and upping the alcohol unnoticeably - nailing this astounding one-of-a-kind creation.

Overall this unfiltered double IPA is juiced up with massive tropical & citrus notes. The mild bitterness and relatively dry body compliment the style, and the residual maltiness nicely rounds it out. Lingering lime peel and tropical fruit derived from the hops stand out on the finish, begging one to seek out more.

What 3 words pinpoint where this beast was born? The location is printed on the can.

This is our take on a hazy East Coast Double IPA. Juicy and smooth with just the right touch of West Coast bitterness in the finish. The aroma on this beer is insane and reminds us of getting fresh fruit from a farm stand on the side of the road. Now, make that a farm stand on the side of the road in Yakima, WA during hop harvest. The aroma of fresh hops envelops!

Draught at Skaal Sønderborg. Very caramelly aroma, spicy maltiness. Cloudy grey light brown colour. Good stable off-white head. The flavour is very caramelly, but not too sweet. Very flavourful and satisfying. High and clean bitterness.

(from notes) Poured from the tap. Hazy amber with small white head. Chewy caramel malt, mild citrus and pine hops. It's fine, but nothing really stands out.

Tall can. Pours a mostly clear copper color with a big foamy off-white head. The aroma is strong with classic stone malts and mixed citrus. The taste is bitter grapefruit, oranges, pine resins and a bit of toasted rye bread. The palate is full and oily woth lively carbonation. Finishes long with lingering bitter pine. Overall: Decent.

Curious find at a WaWa. So they bill this as some sort of hybrid between west coast IPA and the hazy/juicy style? That would be more my speed, and I'm not surprised after drinking. Its a amberish color, good foamy head, not overly cloudy or opaque like the hazies. Bright hop nose is a good mix of citrus, pine and flowers. Flavor similar somewhat resinous, a good bitterness, not super strong but enough to show its west coast heritage. Lingering resins in the aftertaste. Fairly dry profile overall, malts are there as a crackery base for the hops, but its enough so that it doesn't come across like hop juice, and it doesn't have that gross juicy palate you so often get in the NEIPAs. I'm just happy to have something new that tastes like an IPA. A real IPA.
