New England-Style IPAs are all the rage. Fans of Stone repeatedly ask for our take on the style, which can be met with some criticism. Rooted in West-Coast style IPAs for decades, how would we do it? Fear no more. Our brewers took the approach to deliver incredibly hoppy and aromatic flavor while keeping it very balanced, and upping the alcohol unnoticeably - nailing this astounding one-of-a-kind creation.
Overall this unfiltered double IPA is juiced up with massive tropical & citrus notes. The mild bitterness and relatively dry body compliment the style, and the residual maltiness nicely rounds it out. Lingering lime peel and tropical fruit derived from the hops stand out on the finish, begging one to seek out more.
What 3 words pinpoint where this beast was born? The location is printed on the can.
This is our take on a hazy East Coast Double IPA. Juicy and smooth with just the right touch of West Coast bitterness in the finish. The aroma on this beer is insane and reminds us of getting fresh fruit from a farm stand on the side of the road. Now, make that a farm stand on the side of the road in Yakima, WA during hop harvest. The aroma of fresh hops envelops!

12 oz bottle that was part of the 2021 - 12 Days of IPA mix pack. The pour is a hazed golden orange with a foamy ½ inch dirty white head. The aroma is cereal caramel malt with some pine. The taste is the malt up front, grain caramel malt, some toasted cereal, then moves to pine and floral hop. Bit of bitterness to the back. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and the pine bitter finish. Solid.

Can. An unclear dark orange colored beer with a finger thick offwhite to light beige head. Nice curtains. The aroma has a light alcohol touch, but mostly fruity, sweetish maltyness. Grapefruit, orange, some pine cones, a touch of pale malts and some bready hints. A bit oxidized. Some spiced maltyness. Lasting finish. Nice indeed, old school, but probably better completely fresh. 220118

Whole Foods Pasadena: pours orange with a white head. Aroma is cantelope, hints of resin, some other fruitiness. Taste is lightly bitter, fruity. Not really seeing how they are calling this a hazy. Fine, I suppose.

Cask at GBBF'19 Day 1, 06/08/19. Murky orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is sweet malts, bitter orange, pine resin, caramel, light herb. Taste comprises orange pith, ripe tropical fruits, tangerine, melon, pine resin. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close splashed with balanced juicy hop bitterness. Decent but would suit keg better.
