Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 18/11/23. A weird Beard rake in late '23 ... who knew! Black with a khaki covering that veers edgewards and to a spiders web khaki effect mid glass. Nose is dark malts, herb, molasses mellow roast, touch of chocolate honeycomb. Taste comprises chocolate, pinch of salt and some liquorice as it says on the tin, dark malts, herb, light spice, toffee, fruit cake mix. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not at all ... good bitter sweet balance and has aged well.

Opaque dark brown beer, decent tan head. Smooth and mildly dry palate, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth dark malts, modest earthy dark chocolate. The licorice is well integrated and certainly not over sweet thanks to the light salty vibe. Smooth creamy dark malt finish leaves a soft licorice linger. Nice. Could easily have been overdone but a light touch works here.

Cask at Ealing Beer Festival 2019, Ealing, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, liquorice aroma and taste. Very rich and a bit hard going for me but well made.
