We took a variety of different beers, fermented with a variety of yeast, from IPA to Belgian Tripel. Aged them in barrels for several years, blended back with fresh beer, blueberries and dry hopped with Mosaic and Bramling Cross.

Bottle, smallish bubbly head, light oxidized red, aroma of horse sweat and berries, flavor of horse sweat, berries, grapefruit and a bit of caramel, some bitterness but not sour enough. Nice.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Bottle Apostle. Pours lightly unclear copper-gold with a small, foamy white head. Light to medium sweet flavour with a good dose of funk, ripe berries, a little Band-Aid, mellow acetic bite, some citric tartness. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light warmth in the finish, more tangy berries, musty funk, mellow dryness. Interesting stuff overall. I can't say I quite see the point in an 8% blueberry-bretted brut (in a 660ml bottle no less) but it was relatively enjoyable.

Keg at Heidrun, HW, 26/08/20. Clear copper to deep golden with a moderate off white cap. Nose is red berry must, funk, vinous tones, light acidic nostril tickle, dungy brett waftings. Taste comprises red grape skins, dusty berries, barnyard esters, damp wood, funk blanket. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced acidic kiss and moderately assertive brett offered. Interesting beer and carried off well.

Is this the last Brut IPA I will pour? The style seems to have come and gone in a flash as the fickle world of craft brewing moves on to the next craze. Of course this should be a DIPA - Brut but the supremely lame and badly thought out style system on Ratebeer can’t cope with that. Bright clear amber beer, good bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and smooth, reasonable fine carbonation. Light but modestly sweet malts. Quite a savoury bretty. Some dry grapey bitterness you would normally associate with a Brut IPA. Light blueberry compliments well and mercifully not overdone as this overrated berry oft is. Light bretty finish. Light and drinkable.
