Bottle from the brewery online shop. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas are slightly metallic, some red fruit. Taste is light caramel, light nuts, light fruit. That metallic note lingers a bit though.

Bottle. Copper colour, frothy head that does not stay long, no lacing. Aroma is caramel, a bit of herbal hops. Light bitterness, no sweetness. Soft carbonation, medium body. Rather boring.

Bottle at home from the Wine Society. A deep burnished copper in the glass and a low head with plenty of lacing. This was all about the biscuity malt flavour and texture that just put a smile on my face. A proper session bitter with some bitter hops, but they were correctly kept to a minimum to let that beautiful malt shine. When a brewery gets a bitter just right, (like this) then it is something to be celebrated.

Cask gravity at the St Albans BEER festival 2017. A clear copper coloured pour with a small off white head. Aroma is nutty dried fruits, simple malts, little apple. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, little chalky. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty malts, light toffee, cakey dried fruit. Light and chalky finish. Standard boring bitter.
