Cuvée de Mortagne is the barrel aged version of Land Van Mortagne. It offers an immense complexity due to the tannins of the wooden barrels and the flavour profile of the wine they once contained.
Our classic Cuvee de Mortagne uses French red wine barrels.
Virgin Oak barrels. This means the barrels previously held no other wine or spirits.

Oddly refreshing. Drinks lighter than the base, less herbal. Oak adds a lovely subtle flavour of vanilla and wood. Still sweet and toffee'ish. Smooth, a bit boozy, easily drinkable and just lovely balance.

23 February 2019. (Tasting formerly known as) RBBWG. Cheers to all, thanks Kraddel for the hospitality! Clear brown with a lasting, thin, unstable, frothy, off-white head. Rich aroma of ripe pear, dried plum, liqueur-drenched cherries, vanilla, oak, brioche, apple cake, 'pralines'. Taste is light fruity sweet, notes of plum, prune, red apple & some estery banana on a brioche- & bread-like malty base with fruity sourish accents of hay, cherries, berries; light bitter in the middle, wood, herbs, vague spices & vanilla popping up. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, quite woody, vanilla by extent, dried plum & apple, subtle warming alcohol (somewhere between cognac & wine). Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very complex, lots of flavours, wouldn't mind enjoying a big bottle sometime...
