Even though we don't brew an IPA, we can't deny that hops are deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest. Bobbi was developed early in our joint homebrewing experiments. While we (obviously) like funky farmhouse beers, Geoffrey's wife is a hop fan. With that in mind, we explored how our subtly complex standard farmhouse ale would mix with a hop schedule of a tasty American Pale Ale. Would the funk and hops support each other or would the hops overpower everything?
Bobbi is a saison with new world hops - Loral, Citra and Mosaic. Brewed with barley and wheat grown in the Skagit Valley and malted by Skagit Valley Malts.

Junction Road store. Aromas are mainly yeast with a little citrus. Flavors are similar to nose, tart and dry with citrus coming out more. Finish is bittersweet with some hop.

4oz pour at the brewery. Pours clear pale yellow with white head. Aroma has fresh piney hops and saison yeast. Lots of pine hop expression with a saison yeast backbone. Nice.

16 ounce pour at the brewery - hazy gold with a thick, frothy head - flavor is lightly tart, lemony, moderately bitter, mildly funky and rustic, lightly oaky - moderate touches of white wine - finish had light peach and lingering buggy funk - bright but manageable acidity closes - I like it!

16 oz. can. Pours a clear, yellow color, with a big, foamy, white head. The nose is lemongrass, grapefruit peel, light musty attic, dandelion, and pine sap. Dry and musty, with a mellow, earthy bitterness. A little tart. Light to medium body, crisp, and a little sticky. Fun and quality.
