Rural Method, Single Variety Cider
A stunning vintage, a top quality variety and a single variety to show it off, it’s safe to say nature wanted to be poured into a glass and quite rightly savoured.
Rich with the whole orchard, it’s earthy with leaves, bark, grass, ripe apple and berries and a touch of smoke on the nose. On the palate it’s a glorious balance of all the elements; with stewed apple sweetness, warmth of the booze, rich black tea like tannins and vibrant acidity all coming together to bring the drink bang in the middle of savoury and sweet.

750ml bottle pour at Edinburgh Cider Salon, Montrose Restaurant, 01Dec2024. Golden colour, thin white foam rim and aroma of apple, musty, fruit. Taste is sweetish, tangy, apple, orchardy, with a meaty funk note, some acidity and bittersharp tannins. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter tannic finish. Very drinkable.
