A very rare variety which dates back to at least the 1700s, and quite likely even earlier. It has a soft and gentle texture with a little acidity and only slight tannins. Hints of lemon compote, garden flowers and ripe, tasty pear. An easy drinking and delicate perry. 500ml. 5.2%.

500ml bottle from Ross on Wye, for #rgpm. Pale yellow colour, short-lived bubbly white foam head and aroma of perry pear, citric, with fudge & caramel hints. Taste is sweet, fruity perry pear, citrusy, with some caramel, light acidity and soft drying tannin. Medium bodied, light soft carbonation, dry peary acidic & tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
