Beer number fourteen at the Great British Winter Beer Festival 2025. Dank appearance but hopped and fruity in taste, strong in aroma.

Cask at Alexandra, Derby. Pours a cloudy dark ruby with minimal foamy cream head and good lacing. There’s malts and toffee in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite bitter but with sweet undertones and a creamy texture. Flavour of floral hops, nuts and autumn fruits with some plumy hints coming through later. Bitterness wins out in the finish. I wasn’t keen on this one – but I couldn’t say why !

1/9/2024. Cask pour shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours hazy/unclear dark amber/copper with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is biscuit, toffee, malt, dried fruit, berries, touch of herb and spice. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, smooth, average to soft carbonation. Long bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

Cask at Durham Brewery 30th Year Anniversary Beer Festival. Reddish amber brown colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of caramel, grain, berry. Taste is smokey, malt, meaty, roasty, tangy, dried fruity, with berry hints and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry earthy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
