Draught @ Meisterstück, Münich. Aroma is somewhat tart with redcurrants and tobacco smoke. Flavour is a bit tart with currants, some sweetish malt, hints of resin, some grassy hops and mild milky notes. Unusual märzen.

Bottle at the brewpub, 15/07/17. Reddish orange with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel, blood orange, floral notes, light hop strokes. Taste comprises caramel malts, cheesecake base, red grapefruit, light bread, candied fruit peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness. Decent enough number ... a good spattering of hops so far from traditional for the style.

Amber with almost no head. Aroma is lots of grapefruit, bread malts, slight spices and more malts. Taste is spicy spiky sourness with some hop bitterness and slight malt sweetness later. Aggressive on the tongue. Not so drinkable due to the aggressive bite. Pfff.

(bottle) Almost clear, dark amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Dark malty and mildly toasted aroma with caramel and present fruity and spicy hops, including notes of dark and red berries, grassy and resiny accents. Mildly bitter and slightly sweet flavour, rather light bodied with a calm carbonation. Slim dark malty base with notes of bread and caramel, backed by spicy and mildly fruity hops, lingering into the slightly caramelly finish. Nice one, just could have had more body. 02.II.17

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours clear dark amber. Aroma is straight grassy hoppy, with clear amber malt notes. Some caramel, light nuts. Body is medium, with a lively carbonation taking the lead in texture. Quite refreshing, almost a bit tart on the palate. Nice and tasty, although not your typical Märzen.
