Purplish pinkish pour from can from aslin alx. Tart raspberry, blueberry, didn't get any chocolate, but still pretty good

16oz can pours a murky purple with some pinkish head. Cocoa and raspberry and lemon on the nose. Flavors really follow, lightly salty, cocoa powder, clear berry and fruit roll up. Medium bodied. 7 4 7 3 13

Beautiful pink and ruby coloured body with a thick, tan head that fades pretty quickly and leaves an ugly lace on the sides. Aroma of very nice lactose and pungent sugars with a bit of cranberries and raspberries, but the chocolate does show through near the end, sort of in a small way, but the sugars are definitely here, as are the tart notes. Medium-bodied; Strong soured and tart flavours dominate with a lot of lactose and body that comes from the milk sugars and malts with a biscuity bite near the end and a ton of spice components that bring out a dry and almost holiday-like finish from the sweetness coupled with the spices. Aftertaste shows a tiny bit of the chocolates at first with some distinct nuttiness from hazlenuts and a bit of walnuts and a more pronounced blackberry and raspberry tart fruit flavour at the very end. Overall, a nice and robust, super complex yet balanced beer that has a lot of sugars, not quite cloyingly so, but strong, along with bunches of spices and a robust maltiness and chocolate that hits very well. Great to sample and well worth trying to find! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe’s in Washington (Foggy Bottom), D.C. on 24-November-2021 for US$3,75 sampled while walking on the streets in New York, New York with my family on 02-December-2021.
