Bluster is dry hopped with Sabro, Strata, Motueka and Azacca, a combination conceived with the intent of leading with wide ranging tropical fruit qualities: mango, pineapple, coconut and tangerine. That’s not to say it doesn’t lack depth - we think a lot about low and high notes in our hop-forward beers and striking a certain balance between saturated/over-ripe flavors and bright/pithy ones. With Bluster we aimed down the middle and think it hits the mark nicely.

Lulu's draught, 9/22/22. Drab/muted brass-bronze. Off-white head is small, moderately retained. Light coconut and pineapple doesn't seem overbearing. Lemon, spice, pine and mild tropical notes blend in nicely. Sparse but supportive malts and no resin, flaw or alcohol noted. Coconut, soft malt and moderate spice, almost curry-like. Pineapple, light citrus, light honey and a touch of caramel. Very soft, malty texture with good attenuation. Very clean. Weirdly good.

Pours dark murky mango into a shaker. Bright white soapy head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Earthy overripe tropical fruit skin aromas. Soft and thick with sweet mango and passion fruit upfront turning to soapy, thick orange meringue pie in the dusty, lasting finish. Tastes better than it sounds....
