Hazy Double India Pale Ale.
We're always jazzed when Other Half Brewing Co. comes to town, but this one might take the cake. The proverbial broccoli cake. Extra Extra Broccoli is an 8.3% Hazy DIPA mash-up of our beloved Extra Extra Juicy Bits and Other Half's flagship Double Dry-Hopped Imperial Hazy, Broccoli, and the result is a glass jam-packed with notes of papaya, mango, light citrus, and a hint of pine…and quite possibly one of the best Hazy DIPAs of all time

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a slight, transient white head. Aroma is tropical with mango in the lead. Med plus body. Tropical and not wholly dry. Moderately bitter. Lots of flavors. Mango, green melon, papaya, and citrus/pine notes. Complex. Pretty tasty.

Life can be full of pluses and minuses. The plus here is the label, interestingly colorful. The minus is the name of the beer unless I see an explanation later. But all this has nothing to do with the contents so let us proceed. My tulip glass from a throwback Ft. Worth brewery receives the pour and I determine a cloudy, yellow-orange body topped by a thin skim of almost white foam. The nose is orange marmalade, citrus and a touch of pine. And the drink, well, this is not bad. Some hoppiness early, orange peel, grain, a small grapefruit influence, dankness surprisingly and a tangerine sweetness. Pretty nice, I let this one warm up for a while and the various tastes came through distinctly.

Canned 473ml. -at Ambasada Zagreb. Unclear orange/golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, citrus and light alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, citrusy, light candy tropical fruits, notes of alcohol and sweetish finish. Slightly boozy.

Romans are blend of citrus and resin with straw, malt and a hint of onion. Flavors are similar to nose slightly more sweet than bitter up front and a lasting bitter finish with some orange. Decent.

16 oz can from Beer Advocate’s Big Beer Box. Aroma has notes of cantaloupe, crackery malt, orange creamsicle. Pours hazy OJ with a half finger cream white head that settles into a cap of foam fairly quickly. Taste has a light to moderate pithy bitterness with juicy flavors of orange and creamsicle.

A hazy, juicy, IPA beer. Vintage Other Half for sure. 🥦 peppery finish.
