Platinum Fern is an amped up, Triple IPA version of Silver Fern that exhibits the splendor of New Zealand hops. As it fills your glass, Nelson and Peacharine Hops meld the sweet perfume of white grape and summery peach. Beneath this harmony, Motueka hops burst with flavors of tropical fruits, while Waimea hops provide a subtle blend of citrus peel and woody aromatics. We hope you enjoy this dangerously drinkable treat and ponder what treasures lie hidden in plain sight.

Canned 6/13, drunk 7/15/24, from Chalumeaux, thanks, TJ. Near turbid. Concrete-OJ. Small, creamy, off-white white head, slowly to spotty cover. Juicy, malty, rich, spicy. Light alcohol strength both dries and dulls but isn't overtly apparent. Clean with excellent guava, passion fruit, mango and papaya. Big, rich, zesty, spicy. Lots of fresh tropical fruit with appropriate acidity to balance the juiciness and rich, supple malts. Still think TIPAs are inherently too much alcohol and malt, but this does a respectable job of being pretty well balanced and drinkable with interesting hop flavors.

Would like to give myself credit for the creation of this beer. Did a cuvΓ©e back in September of Silver and Gold Fern, referred to it as Platinum Fern, months before this beer was brought into the series. Nice sunset outback.
Boozy og. Strong aroma.

Pours a hazy, copper-mustard, with mid-sized, lasting head. Aroma is quite dank, with some sharp cheese/green onion notes, along with citrus and tropical fruit. Flavors follow. Very soft/smooth mouthfeel. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish.
