Our take on the regional classic from Cologne, Germany, this 4.6% Kölsch-style beer is defined by it's supreme easy-drinking quality. Contee is brewed with a combination of German malt and local malt from our friend's at Maine Malt House. Hopped thoughtfully with German hops, this ale is fermented for many moons at cooler temperatures providing a lager-like ale that is crisp, clean and refreshing.

Aromas are multi-sweet with wet grain and a bit floral. Flavors are similar to nose, a touch more sweet than traditional with okay bitterness and carbonation. Drink a little bit nothing special.

Can from my brother: pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is light grain, and smells very much like beer for lack of a better word. Taste is mellow inoffensive, lightly sweet, refreshing with fruity notes.

Pours a clear dark straw from a can. Malty biscuit aroma and flavor, a light lemon note in the finish. Good beer.

Pours slightly hazed gold into a shaker. Bright white soapy head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Sweet cracker and hay aromas. Sharp with sweet caramel and dry cracker before turning to mild toasted sourdough in the dry, lasting finish.

16 oz can from Half Time. Clear, pale golden with a small frothy head. Grainy aroma. Taste is more full flavored biscuit malts, light lemony accents and a light, dry bitter snap at the end. Pretty good example of the style.
