Snally: pours gold with white head. Funk, yeast, herbs and flowers. On the more sour end, but still really tasty.

Bottle at Black Christmas March 2022, magnum bottle
Hazy blond colour. Fruity, farty, feeling of freshly cut trees. Smooth, sharply acidic, balanced but just medium complexity. Good.

Soft body. The nose has this mellow wildness, the sweet side of nature expressed in the glass. On the palate it’s even gentler but with this honeyish glow. Hard to put into words, simple and complex simultaneously.

Taster shared with Matt. Appearance: almost clear pale golden with a white head. Aroma: minerally with some funk. Taste: along the same lines, a bit too woody. Overall: not that complex compared to the Belgian examples, but pretty nice for the US brewery.

On tap at Garden Path, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma smells pretty damn close to an authentic gueuze, with lots of barnyard funk, plenty of wild bugs, some leather, and a little oak. Flavour is wonderfully complex, with lots of barnyard funk, very complex wild yeast, and accentuated by a little oak. Really love that wild yeast complexity—that spontaneous fermentation was clearly done expertly. Maybe not exactly convincing as a gueuze, but as a blended, spontaneous wild ale, it's damn impressive.
