Gobble Gobble! It's time for BARREL AGED PECAN PIE THIEF (2023)! This year, we took a bigger blend of our rich wheat wine base, coming from barrels aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels for 27 months and 1792 bourbon barrels for 12 months. From there it was conditioned on heaps of pecans smoked by our friends over at @littlemissbbq and Costa Rica origin vanilla beans. Intense oak-y vanilla and dark cocoa aromas with a whiff of bourbon leading into its decadent flavor. A modest smoke and a faint cinnamon note coming through at the beginning leading into rich pecans, like the best pecan praline you've ever had. A balanced bourbon backbone reminding you of its time in barrels, but not overpowering in any way.

Intense dark malty with maple, toffee and interlaced with spicy and nutty accents, good mouthfeel and body, lovely bourbon character running throughout, light vanilla and more bourbon and smoked pecan coalesce into the warming malty finish. Beautiful. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Barrel Aged Pecan Pie Thief (2023) on 26 Mar 2025 at 06:06 - Score: 9. Pint can pours with a murky deep red mahogany colored body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting notes of bourbon barrel, prune enhanced sherry, a dash of chocolate and then vanilla. The taste delivers a smooth blend of bourbon, reduced sugar caramel notes, plums and a bit of dates. To midway it picks up modest notes of chocolate and sweet vanilla. I'm digging the sipping pleasure provided here but it does thin out a tad near midway making for an interesting experience.
