Prodigal is an imperial oatmeal milk stout with a massive fudge and roast malt character. It’s a foundation for some of our favorite stouts, now here to stand on its own adorned with only a handful of cacao nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans to round out the edges.

Original rating: 8/5/9/5/16=4.3 27 September 2018. Birthday Antwerp Pub Crawl - cheers to Anke! At Gollem. Pours cloudy black with a lasting, thin, very stable, dark beige head; little lacing. Intense aroma of hazelnut & walnut, milk chocolate, coffee bean, raisin, plum, chocolate chips, cookie, cream, vanilla. Medium to heavy malty sweet onset, clear hints of cream & vanilla & some milk chocolate; light to medium roasted bitter middle with coffee ground, cake & nuts; 'dark' fruity & faintly sour accents in the back. Not too dry, toasty, herbal & bit peppery hoppy finish, lingering vanilla & cream, warming creamy jenever alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. This is a very good beer, great even, but tasted right next to Speedway Sout - Vietnamese Coffee & Kees Export Porter it's just not constantly overwhelming. 14 December 2019. At 2nd Great Timternational Beer Tasting. Cheers to Ghent beer crew! 2019 edition. More apparent chocolate: chocolate powder, biscuit, vanilla, praliné. Quite toasty profile, finish still not too dry, hinting more towards whisky & chocolate jenever. Deserves a slight increase.
