Prodigal is an imperial oatmeal milk stout with a massive fudge and roast malt character. It’s a foundation for some of our favorite stouts, now here to stand on its own adorned with only a handful of cacao nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans to round out the edges.

Keg @ Sori Taproom. The beer poured almost black in color with a thin tan head. Lovely vanilla aroma, cocoa, roastedness. Nicely balanced imperial stout with soft vanilla, sweetness, roastedness, cocoa. Ends somewhat dry with mild warmth and some tobacco. Splendid sipper.

750 ml bottle, vintage 2018.
Black, oily body, with a small, dark coffee colored head.
Aroma of roast, lactose, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, some soy sauce, slight smoke.
Tastes similar, with more soy sauce.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, medium sweet, a bit dry, with tobacco, soy sauce, chocolate, lactose, some vanilla, some coffee.

Very nice. Quite diverse, with the lactose, cocoa and vanilla, while also quite a lot of soy sauce like notes. Drinks pretty creamy, the alcohol isn't noticeable. Not outstanding maybe, but interesting.

0,75l bottle at Powys place shared by Saeglopur, big thanks. Vintage 2018. Bottled 3.01.2018. black color, small coffee colored head. smells earthy, some apricot jam, light lactose, peppery. nice smell. full body, light carbonation, oily mouthfeel. tastes earthy, light cardboard, peppery, spices, light lactose, soy sauce, some nuts, light vanilla. finishes lightly roasty bitter with notes of pepper, soy sauce and some spices. nice one overall, but rather heavy on the soy sauce and does not offer that much else. not bad but also not a favorite of mine.
