In a pursuit to push the limits of our brewing system, we created this majestic Imperial Stout. We then aged King Ink for 17 months in fresh Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels, expanding the scope of its complexity even further.
The barrel aging gives complex notes of Bourbon, coconut and charred oak, which layers on top of the beer’s rich flavor profile of dark chocolate, dark fruits and liquorice.
Welcome to the empire of King Ink!

Sample, thanks fonefan! Black, minimal dark brown head. Oaky bourbon meets chocolate cake and coffee. Sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Toffee and creme brulée topped with bourbon and coffee. Dense with asphalt and dark chocolate. Warming bitter finish.

Can. Barrel Aged King Ink vintage 2023. An oily one, black in color, with a minimalistic beige head. The aroma has alcohol, roasted malts, cocoa, booze and some oak, dark chocolate, soy sauce and a cheesy touch. It's full-bodied and warming, very softly carbonated, sweet and lightly bittered, with flavors of heavily roasted malts, cocoa, dark chocolate, soy sauce notes and booze. Lasting roasted and boozy finish. A nice one indeed, but a bit rough for my liking, prefer the regular King Ink. 241019

Can. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. Soft and pillowy. Velvet feel. Smooth and full bodied. Hard roast, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and wood. Gentle warmth. Top delicious sipper. This and the old version should be aliased. 10/17 month in same bourbon shouldnt be a new entry, should it?
