Bottle from ETNYC: pours oily black with a small brown head. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate, hints of Belgian yeast, coffee. Taste is rather sweet, vanilla, chocolate, hints of bitterness, with a boozy finish.

Bottle 500ml. @ home.

[ As Evil Twin NYC / Monkish 12 Beers of Christmas ].
ABV: 13.2%. Clear dark black colour with a average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, molasses, chocolate, belgian yeast, chocolate - vanilla, vanilla - vanilla beans. Flavor is light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, vanilla, belgian yeast - candy, chocolate, molasses, candy, roasted - dark chocolate bitter, light tart berry - dark fruit notes. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. IMO: Initial to sweet for me, but finish gets a nice balance of roasted bitternes and alcohol .. so ends up as being quit nice. [20200201]

Bottle shared at home with the in-laws - Black with a brown head. Sweet and light roasted malty with notes of chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, some vanilla sweetness coming through, full body with a think velvety mouthfeel, lingering vanilla accented sweet malty close. Nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of 12 Beers Of Christmas - Monkish on 26 Mar 2025 at 11:57 - Score: 8.
