Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Spot on nose of cookies and lesser creme brulee. Palate is smooth and fairly light, reasonable fine carbonation. Slightly soft dark malts, the nose carries over to the taste but without the same alluring intensity. Lihht vanilla and yes, a little malt cream. All good so far but then there is a misplaced bitter hoppy kick on the back end that skews the whole beer and for me wrecks the concept. I guess I was looking for something as deft as Deer Bear but this isn't quite it. 3
