Istrian Grape Ale is not just another beer on the market – it is the result of a carefully designed collaboration between the Bujska pivovara, the renowned Franković winery and the talented artist Marko Brajković.

The specialty of this beer lies in the unique combination of beer wort and must from Malvazia, a variety that comes from the Santa Lucia position, one of the most valued wine-growing positions in Istria. The Franković Winery, known for its top wines, provided the must that adds a unique aroma and complexity to this beer, creating an incredible balance between the freshness of the wine and the richness of the ale beer. In simple words, Istrian Grape Ale is a beer that represents passion for innovation and great respect for tradition. This product is the result of cooperation between local forces and as such represents the spirit of Istria in every sip.

0.75 l bottle thanks to Neven, shared with Ogi and Marko. Unclear golden to orange, minimal diminishing head. Sparkling. Aroma is fruity and funky, vinous, cheesy. Effervescent. Slightly harsh funky and goaty flavour, hints of berries, white grapes, cheese and some herbs. Medium body, creamy. No great wine or grape character. Moderate sourness, light to medium body. Light dry tart finish.

Bottled 750ml. -Courtesy of Hrabren, shared with him & Marko, thanks! Unclear yellow/pale golden coloured, minimal white head that went away within one second, yeast and grapes in the nose. Yeasty, grapes, moderate to strong carbonation, bit spicy and light fruity. One-dimensional but drinkable, less carbonation wouldn't hurt.

0.75l bottle, enormous thanks Neven for sending it to Hrabren and me! Shared with Ogi. Hazy questionable urine sample golden body, off-white head gone soon, but carbonation is extreme. Creamy, lightly yellow fruit notes, bit spicy-herbal. Extremely overcarbonated yet soft taste, brutish, with a solid creamy soft yellow fruit white grape background, ending lightly herbal. There is a mild spicy-phenolic presence by the finish, raised by the yeast shot. I like the smooth balance, but this will make you burp like an animal. Should be fun in a fancy restaurant context this probably aims at.
