Amarillo and First Gold hops give a distinct fruity/spicy balanced flavour, with a zesty aroma. Battle of Britain Class 4-6-0 No: 34053 Sir Keith Park was designed by Oliver Bullied for the Southern Railway and built in 1947. It was withdrawn from service in October 1965 and towed to Barry scrap yard in South Wales, where it avoided the cutters torch for 20 years. After a few different homes No: 34053 was purchased by Southern Locomotive Ltd and the restoration began in 2001. No: 34053 arrived at the Severn Valley Railway in May 2012.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Crystal clear, yellow-ish, bright golden colour with small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Floral and slightly fruity, hoppy aroma, mellow, pale malty background, notes of petals, viola, hints of lemon biscuits. Taste is mildly bitter, floral and slightly fruity hoppy, biscuity pale malty with some residual sweetness, notes of petals, viola, hints of lemon biscuit. Watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Harmonious and balanced, focussed - very nice.

Bottle direct from the brewer, and another golden ale to boot! Pours gold, thin head, no retention. Aroma of biscuit malts, mild spice, a zesty fruitiness. Taste is is hoppy fruit notes, biscuit malts, a little spice, nice bitterness in the finish. A good moderate body considering the ABV, moderate carbonation. Another good gold from Bewdley, probably one of their better ones as well due to the body and a good hoppy bitterness.
