Dapple is our interpretation of a British Dark Mild. We brew Dapple with a classic simple infusion mash using Marris Otter Pale Ale and Crystal malts along with a touch of roasted barley. It is aroma hopped with East Kent Goldings during the boil in our copper kettle. After an open ale fermentation, it rests in our cellars for several weeks.

16 oz can from City Brew Tours Hanukkah box, night 6, 12/30/24. Pours a murky darker brownish-orange color. Nutty and grainy, a little bit of chocolate, some dark fruit notes. Pumpernickel and raisin as well. Light spice. Lots of flavor here. Very drinkable. Quite nice. 7/4/8/4/16

Can drunk 1/20/23. Dark ruby-mahogany. Small, beige head to cover/ring. Smells immensely malty with acidic fruit from the yeast and some great toast and caramel. No alcohol or flaw. Really interesting and provably much closer to a real mild on account of the open fermentation. Soft, malty, but drying out HEAVILY with acidic red and brown fruits (apple, raspberry, date, fig, prune, plum). Great balance, extremely dry on account of the lingering acidity. Maybe not like your grandmother's dark mild, but certainly your Great, Great Great, Great Great, Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandmother's dark mild.

From a can at ChurchKey. Pours an opaque cola brown with a tan head. Iffy aroma. Flavors are sweet malts with some bitter hops in the finish. Quite tasty.
