Bottle courtesy of Totnes. The person not the place. Pale to medium gold. Light haze. Fine sticky white foam. Nose has fruity flowery hop. Bit of a tang. Clean dry malt. Taste is initially sweet and fruity with a moderate tangy bitterness. Good body with a bit of sticky. Fine crisp carbonation. Tangy bitterness to finish. Nice golde with decent punch.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2017, [ Great British Beer Festival 2017 ], London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.[ As Summerskills First Light ].Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, cookie, fruity malt, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20170808] 6-3-6-3-12

Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2017. Pours amber with a frothy long lasting white head. Aroma of hop, fruit, flowers and chewing gum. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation.

Sampled @ GBBF 2017, Day 1. A clear deep golden beer with mid sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, biscuit, mild bitter hops. Taste of mild citrusy hops biscuit, low carbonation.

Cask at the Monk’s Retreat (JDW), Reading. A pale amber pour with a loose cream head; indistinct fruity aroma; sour fruity taste; and a fruity caramel finish. Rather innocuous.
