Skies of Red is our tritcale altbier brewed with a blend of pilsner malts, Munich malt, pale triticale, caramelized triticale and debittered black malt. This altbier was hopped with East Kent Goldings, Czech Saaz, and HallertauMittelfrüh, then open fermented cool with our house kölsch strain.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown yet clear pour, towering tan head, leaves streaks of lacing. Nutty aroma, woody, brown bread. Taste is nutty, sweet, malty, drying out a little towards the back with a smidge of bitterness.

Can from Tavour. Pours slightly ruddy amber with a creamy tan head. Aroma of buckwheat and toffee. Near med body. Flavor suggests Tmavy. Somewhat dry. Lightly bitter. Buckwheat. Hop is more floral than Noble.

Reddish brown. Thin head. Medium head. Some caramel, toffee, medium bitterness and a fairly rich malt. Maybe some acidity -it sort of fits into the mid-range of altbier. I'd almost want more hops but I also need to remember that not all altbier is sticke.
