A lively lager muddled with a delicate dash of refreshing rhubarb soda. Tastes like the first long walk of spring. 117 calories per 330ml.

330ml can from Sainsbury's, Darlington. Gluten Free. Golden colour, frothy white foam head and rhubarby aroma. Taste is sweet & tart, rhubarb, vanilla, malt, citric, with light bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying finish with lingering rhubarb note. Quite OK.

Shandy Shack Rhubarb Lager - Can from Squires Garden Centre, Woking. Aroma combines tart rhubarb and sweet lager. Opaque amber. Thick foamy white head. Initial burst of rhubarb sourness. It's there fir tge duration bur the tartness is then joined by sugary sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation attempts some lacklustre fizz. Long dry finish, slightly astringent. Refreshing but could do with dialling down the sweetness a couple of notches.

Can from producer's own stand at the Witney Food Festival. Lightly hazed gold with a white head and a light to middling fizz. Creamy rhubarb up front, which tastes exactly like Cawston Press's sparkling rhubarb drink. I love that Cawston Press Rhubarb , so I enjoyed this too. The rhubarb is followed by a bit of lemony lager, and a mildly dry finish. It's a very nice brew,, one of the best radlers I've tried, and would be a great refresher on a really hot summer's day - but in that circumstance I'd probably be going for a soft drink like Cawston Press instead, so I'm not sure I see the point in this? Still very nice though.
