Final beer of a day out pubbing in Preston, after darkness has fallen at the new to me Winckley Alehouse. You'll need to look elsewhere for Utopia from this beer. Hazy brown coloured with a light brown head. It has mild roasted notes, which are sweetish, and not the most appealing, but ok.

Keg at RN Volunteer, Bristol. Aroma has chocolate and bitter coffee edge. Dark and glossy. Thin beige head. Light coffee bitterness throughout. Underlying sweet berries. Chocolate. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. OK... just lacks something somehow.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 13th December 2023. Deep brown to black with tan foam and spot lacing. Roast malt aroma. Roastiness, spices, smokes and dark chocolate in-mouth, and a mild, roasty finish. Light bodied for a stout, with a smooth mouthfeel.
