Bottle from Simon Cheese. Thanks! Aroma is somewhat unmild-esque. Big and punchy from the adjuncts. Vinous too. Flavawise we have a vinous dry sour streak. The OG mild is lurking close by; coffee and cacao. Juicy berries into the close. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Watching Malignent and [SPOILER ALERT] this makes me think of it; two beers in one, a mild and a sour.

28/2/2020. Cask at the Leicester Beer Festival 2020. Pours dark brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, light roasted malt, herbs, flowers and ice cream. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness and tartness. Moderate body, average carbonation. Earthy finish. Pretty good.

Gravity cask at the 2020 Leicester Beer Festival. Dark drown, slightly translucent with a ring of khaki head and a touch of natural carbonation. Sour smell mixes with the heady sweetness of the malt: I get the foraged herbs, soured stone fruit along with strong aniseed and medicinal characteristics. Taste turns gently sour mid-sip, leading to a fruity and herb-laden finish. A suggestion of liquorice in the aftertaste. Unusual and very well-crafted.
