The Huell Melon hops add melon, strawberry and apricot notes alongside hints of citrus fruit – while the Pale Ale and Crystal malts bring distinctive biscuity flavours.

Cask at the Old Thatch Tavern, Stratford-Upon-Avon, May-23. Pours amber with off-white consistent head. Its a very balanced tasty ale - some citrus zest amongst the toffee and caramel noted malts. Very smooth going down. Nice indeed.

Bottle bought at the brewery shop. Aroma is sweet- fruity, sugary, gluey. Punchy. Opaque dark brown. Foamy microbubbled white head. Medium sweet - caramel. Underlying fruit sharpness. Followed by a long bitter hoppy streak. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Hmmm... doesn't do it for me. Sweet caramel and hoppy bitterness are jarring.

4 pints in the Astronomer Fuller's, just off Bishopsgate in the city. A clear deep amber beer with a decent pale tan head. A smooth and softish palate with a decent fine carbonation that is pretty much what I would expect and want for a cask beer. The malts are very clearly dark toffee and caramel with a pleasing light creamy sweetness. The hoppage is suitably mild marmalade and a little raw citric peel. There is no real hop spice or bitterness here, it's just a rich ale that goes down pretty easy, as my 4 finished pints would attest.

[Cask at the Three Guineas, Reading.] A bright amber pour with a tight white head; leafy hop aroma; malty body with caramel and orange marmalade; and a rounded finish. A substantial, satisfying bitter. The best Coronation beer I’ve tried so far.

Cask at the signal box Euston. A clear amber orange coloured pour with a loose beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty, autumnal leaves, pine, bark, light fig pud. Flavour is composed of semi sweet layered malts, nutty, dried fruit cake, light balsa. Fig pud. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, light tannin, good cask condition.

(Cask) Clear dark coppery brown with good white head. Nice aroma of toffee with notes of marmalade. Medium body with plenty of good soft carbonation. Great taste. Toffee. Notes of chocolate and marmalade. Nice herbal hop notes giving pleasant bitter finish. Very nice.

Cask at the Mad Hatter, Southwark, 05/05/23. Clear golden amber with a good sized lasting off white head ... lacing ensues. Nose is fruit cake, caramel, straw, biscuit, grains. Taste comprises biscuit, dates, toffee, light herb, brown bread, dried fruit rinds. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow bitter edge. Decent cask affair.
