Russian Imperial Porter Tsarina Esra werd in 2007 voor het eerst (en tot 2020) succesvol gebrouwen door Brouwerij de Molen in Bodegraven. Door de persoonlijke geschiedenis en verbondenheid met het bier van Delftse brouwer John Brus is de naam èn het recept – na zijn vertrek bij Brouwerij de Molen - meeverhuisd naar Delft.
In de smaak nuances van chocolade, koffie en drop.
Moutig met een milde geroosterde bitterheid.
Een zacht mondgevoel en gegarandeerde algehele gelukzaligheid. (we zijn zelf ook nog al fan ;)

From tap at Delfts Brouwhuis. Roasty aroma with notes of liquorice, coffee, roasted malt. Moderate to medium bittersweet, medium plus body. Nice Porter.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured almost black in colour with a thin tan head and some clingy lace. The aroma is big roasty malt, toffee caramel. The flavour is over moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, light chocolate, light warm boozy, liqourice bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle,. Color: Black, thin beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Taste: Roasted malt, medium sweet, notes of milk and dark chocolate. Notes of vanilla. Modearte to over moderate hopbitterness. More boozy tand warming han most other 10% beers I've had. Over medium to full body, below average carbonation. Smooth and lightly creamy. Very nice. I rated the original De Molen version of this beer in march 2018 (7 4 7 4 15 = 3.7). This time definitely a higher rating for me.
