On tap at Brew Festival. It's almost black in the glass, with a dense finger-thick beige head leaving lacing. The aroma is burnt and roasted, with oats, pine cones and some resin hints. It's lightly warming on the palate, dryish and nicely carbonated, with a good hoppy bitterness. Roasted malts, some burnt malts and oat, as well as a lightly resiny and quite piney hoppyness. Lasting finish. Feels quite traditional British in the malt profile, but with a modern hoppy twist. Quite decent. 220430

Cask @ Knott Bar, Manchester. Black with an off-white creamy head. A dense tasting but stated porter with good roasted malts evident, especially in its aroma. Full-bodied and has a crispness out of a cask that is impressive.

Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours black-brown with a foamy, beige head. Nice ashy roast character, bitter chalky cocoa, burnt earth, a little salt. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Further ashy roast in the finish, iodine, bittersweet cocoa, burnt rubber, mild earthy bitterness: nice overall.
