400ml can delivered from the Blue Boar and drunk at home. Dark indigo/brown, slightly translucent with a tan/khaki head. Figs, honey, some earthy notes n the aroma. Tastes sweet with the fig standing out. I get some blueberry but not much of the almond. A medicinal finish, betraying the thin body of the beer. Medium to heavy carbonation. I was excited about trying this but even if it didn't deliver quite as I'd hoped, it is still worth trying.

Very nicely done, especially for a gluten-free. Roasty, sweetish and light. The fruit works well, giving some tartness, complexity and flavour. The almonds are nicely present in the background. Tasty.

Can from Trembling Madness, York. Deep brown in colour, with a thin, beige, head and moderate carbonation. Berry fruit sweetness, a hint of chocolate and spice, fruit cake malts, a hint of leafy hop and boozy finish. Good.

can from Bier Huis Ossett. Red-brown colour, mid-sized foamy-fluffy beige head. Fruity nose. Medium-bodied, malty sweetness with a fruity touch of blueberries, an almondy bitterness and some dried fruit (probably date?). Nice one, not too sweet - but imho nowhere near a porter.

Cask @ Crown & Kettle, Manchester. Dark copper-amber with a creamy head. It has a sweetened dark-malt character and dry hops dominate. It's porteresque, but not a regular one, with an almost chewing gum aroma.
