2022 Vintage drank in 2024. 10000th rate! Lots of syrupy flavor, really sweet, but somewhat balanced by the barrel. Tasty, but too sweet for me, like eating an extra sugary piece of chocolate cake. Well done for the style, but sort of choresome to drink a whole glass. Best split between 3 or so people I'd say.

Waxed 500 ml from Tavour. Pours somewhat a la Guinness - dark brn/blk with a huge foamy tan head when it settled. Aroma of caramel, coffee and bourbon. Full bodied. Not dry, but not quite sticky. Flavor is pretty much the aroma, but I am tantalized by a hint of cherry. Probably just me. There is some lactose. It is pretty tasty ale.

Poured from a 500 ml, 2022 vintage bottle. Aroma is full of chocolate and caramel notes with lighter notes of roast and coffee. Lighter vanilla and lactose notes. Light bourbon and alcohol notes with hints of oak. Pours jet black with hints of dark brown on the edges with a medium large, thick, creamy, mocha head that recedes slowly to a small, creamy film that lingers. Moderately high amount of lacing and long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with loads of caramel and toffee notes. Lighter chocolate and roast notes with some coffee as well. Light vanilla and lactose notes with hints of honey. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol notes. Light notes of bourbon and faint oak character. Mouthfeel is fairly full bodied and sticky with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, another solid Eclipse. Adjunct notes are well balanced allowing some of the base eclipse and barrel treatment to show through. Alcohol is fairly well hidden behind the residual sugar.
