(from label)
Imperial stout aged for 14 months in bourbon barrels from Dry Fly Distilling and finished with an insane amount of vanilla beans.
(from https://lumberbeardbrewing.com/menu)
While this beer was aged in wheat whiskey, which is not technically a bourbon, we chose the standard, well-know beer nomenclature of “bourbon barrel aged stout” to help our not as well-versed drinkers understand the product. We specify the type of barrel on the side to highlight the excellent product created by Dry Fly Distilling.

Half our at Prefunk. Dark, dark brown with a thin, creamy beige head. Sweet roasty aroma with a lot of bourbon. Taste is sweet, roasty, chocolate, coffee and yes, bourbon. Creamy smooth

On tap at WABF 2024, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by intense vanilla, tons of dark sugars, and a little bourbon. Flavour is huge, with tons of bourbon barrels, intense vanilla, some roast, and cocoa. Lovely barrel character. Fantastic.

16oz shared with Phill @ Ryan's. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: loads of vanilla, chocolate, some American oak. Taste: along the same lines, vanilla is quite overpowering and hides the influence of American oak. You can still find the complexity added by barrel aging, but it is well hidden by the integration with overpowering vanilla. Overall: quite good still.

Poured from 473mL can. Near black with small beige head. Bourbon, lots of vanilla, decent balance, maybe a little bit thin, but okay. Abv quite hidden.

Dark brown, thin head. Maple and vanilla nose, comes across sweet. Mellow syrup and vanilla on the palate, a bit of alcohol but there's not a ton of stouty richness. Not bad but falls short of the pastry benchmarks.

I've been avoiding tavour canned stouts for a bit but no regrets here! My first lumberbeard brewing too. Nice vanilla bean stacked bourbon boozy sweetness. Was a bit smokey upfront but after airing out and warming up it's all vanilla bourbon.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight darkish tan head. Vanilla wafts from the pour. Aroma of vanilla, whiskey and pretty toasted malt. Pretty full bodied. Flavor starts with wheat/whiskey, shows lots of vanilla, gets some chocolate, and then pretty toasted/burnt malt - which may provide some bitter. This is not very sweet. It's really nice flavor. The label front indicates bourbon whiskey - the side label indicates wheat whiskey. I'm going with wheat on this.
