Aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels
For the earliest folks living around Covington, Kentucky, the Ohio River was a crucial artery. Goods and services were made available via flatboat, connecting families and communities to the larger world. That’s how this region got its coal, The rich, dark diamonds that lit the lights, warmed the homes, and fired the power that built this city. We brew that spirit into this strong, dark Imperial Stout, aging it in premium bourbon barrels that give a lasting depth to the finish.

Bottle. Aroma is light vanilla, cacao, chocolate. Flavor shows mild barrel with the above adjuncts. The alcohol is hidden but it does show bitter chocolate in the finish. Good.

Bomber from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a small creamy dark tan head that persisted. Aroma of bourbon, coconut and chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor of bourbon, chocolate, coconut, vanilla and burnt malt. A little heat can be found. Not all that sweet. Burnt malt/heat bitter. Tasty stuff.
